Rock the Boat

"CATCH THE COMMOTION" -- is the "catch phrase" chosen by students at The Art Institute of Phoenix to help promote the "Rock the Boat" (aka "Old Boat, New Boat") project.

Dec. 13, members of the AIP design team presented their plans for the promotion, design, and production (including marketing, logos, cartoon strips, advertising, a Web site, and film crews) of what is planned to be a television series, resulting in the refurbishing of two historic Chris-Craft boats and an auction -- with proceeds going to charity.

Some of the "Rock the Boat" sponsors to date are Hale's Marine, Sea Tow San Diego, Sun Valley Fiber-Glas, "Outdoors Arizona" radio, "Shake, Rattle & Troll" radio, and "Outdoors in America" radio.

The first filming with two AIP crews is planned for early in the new year, when the 1952 Chris-Craft leaves San Diego and crosses the desert to its refurbishing site: Hale's Marine in Phoenix.
