MyBoatsGear.com Launches Free News, Information Site About Boating Products

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — There is one truth inherent to boat ownership: Once you
buy a boat, whether it is old or new, you’ll spend so much of your free time looking for that important piece of equipment, be it for anchoring, docking or trying out new deck gear or safety devices.

Newly-launched Internet site MyBoatsGear.com aims to be a one-stop, boating-gear resource for boat owners.  Created by a former boat builder and boat broker, MyBoatsGear.com is set-up as a “how-to guide” for boat owners.

With gear organized into 20 easily-accessible categories such as above-deck, electronics, safety, and navigation, MyBoatsGear.com stores product information for access anytime, anywhere.

“We review all the products at the boat shows and add other cool gear we find from multiple other sources,” said Mike Hobson, founder of MyBoatsGear.com.  “We then pick the best gear and put them into a format that anyone can easily browse with direct links to the manufacturer of the product.”

New products are introduced to the market every day. MyBoatsGear.com sorts through them and pick the ones that stand out. “I’ve seen it before, all the time spent researching magazines, shopping marine stores, looking online and asking friends for advice on the best gear,” continued Hobson.

“I wanted to take my knowledge from 30 years in the marine business with boat gear and put it all into one spot, as a resource, for anyone to use. Our mission is to showcase the best, the new, and the innovative in boat gear.  We only look at products that provide solutions and aim to be unbiased in our presentation.”

In addition to the online database, each week MyBoatsGear.com features regular newsletters to offer solutions to common problems.  Recent examples include onboard weather information, safety, communication, boat-show reviews and navigation.

“We’ll keep you up-to-date on the latest trends in new gear — be it sailing, boating, power boating or watersports.  We are unbiased in our presentation and are not limited to any manufacturer.

“Manufacturers do not pay to place their products on the site. Our aim is to provide the information on what's available, what's new, interesting, different and sometimes extraordinary.”
