On Fish!Fall Winners, Upcoming TourneysCompiled By Margie Anderson John Majersky and Ron Pikul won the MidWeek Bass tournament Sept. 19 at Roosevelt Lake with a total of 10.52 pounds. They won $286. Judy Chaney of Tucson and Lanny Wilson of Phoenix weighed a two-day total of 26.35 pounds to win the 2007 AllStar Bass SuperCouples championship held on Sept. 21-22, at Roosevelt Lake. The team received a total of $7,650 in cash from more than $10,000 in cash and merchandise prizes. Robert O’Donnell and John Browning, both of Payson, weighed a six-bass limit totaling 19.65 pounds to win the BestBet Aluminum Boat team bass fishing tournament season opener held at Roosevelt Lake on Oct. 13. The team received a total of $3,100, including $500 for the tournament’s Big Fish option winner, an 8.63-pound largemouth. They fished Carolina-rigged worms and lizards in the Conner Flats area. The Apache Junction team of Curtis Palmer and Leroy Moss weighed a six-bass limit totaling 17.88 pounds to win the AllStar Bass Fishing Tournaments 2008 team season opener held at Roosevelt Lake on Oct. 6. They received checks totaling $2,783 and first-place trophies. The team fished jigs, Texas-rigged worms, drop-shot worms, and soft jerkbaits down to 20 feet on major points from the Tonto Creek arm to the Salt River arm. Their limit included the tournament’s Big Fish, a 10.04-pound largemouth. Mark Kile and Wes McCracken won the ABF Championship held at Lakes Roosevelt and San Carlos on Oct. 12 and 13. They weighed a total of 34.59 pounds to take the grand prize – a brand new 19-foot Skeeter bass boat with a 150 hp Mercury outboard! Mark Roberts and Jerry Schlieff brought 13.21 pounds to the scales to win the season opener for the Anglers’ Choice Lake Powell tournament circuit on Oct.13. They won $2,225. Randy Roundtree and Bump Elliott won the Anglers’ Choice Lake Powell tournament on Oct. 14 with 14.4 pounds and took home $2,385. Jason and Robbin Gibbs won the 1st MBC Senior Teams tournament at Lake Pleasant Oct. 13. They had 11.77 pounds and won $1,501. Leo and Daniel Longoria won the MBC Super Teams 2007 Classic at Roosevelt Lake Sept. 29.
