Parker Celebrates 100 Years

By Mary Hamilton

Parker, Ariz., is located on the Colorado River, off the I-10, on Arizona Hwy 95. This unique and affordable area offers a relaxing, extended-stay lifestyle and vacation atmosphere and includes viable businesses accessible by boat or other watercraft.

It’s the perfect year-round vacation spot for watersports, camping, off-roading, golfing, fishing, and RVers with over 20 RV parks and campgrounds along the 16-mile stretch of the Parker Strip.

We offer a variety of hotels, motels, restaurants, shopping, a four-star golf course and resorts, including the Blue Water Resort & Casino and of course, The Colorado River!

June 18 marks our 100th birthday!  Many fun events have already taken place — from a parade with over 100 entries to a huge street dance in the downtown area.  The next celebration will be a big party at Pop Harvey Park on June 18 from 6-8 p.m.

There will be food, music, games for the kids, the BIGGEST BIRTHDAY CAKE EVER, and great prizes!  Ground breaking will take place for the new community pool, and we will bury our time capsules.

State dignitaries representing our area will be present.  Come on out and see what our amazing historical community is all about. BYOLC! (Bring your own lawn chair.)

Make Parker your next destination. You'll be glad you did!
