June 2008

Just Ahead: A Week Of Boating And Fishing For The U.S.A.

Mark your calendar for the 8th annual National Fishing and Boating Week (NFBW) — June 1-8, 2008 — a national celebration of fishing and boating coordinated by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF). Coinciding with most state's free fishing days, NFBW occurs the first full week of June.

Thousands of sites all over the country will be hosting events to promote fishing and boating. RBFF urges outdoor enthusiasts to join the fun and/or increase traffic to their stores, awareness of their agencies, or participation in their organizations.

RBFF has materials for event planning, working with the media, resource lists, ads/flyers/posters, publicity materials, and more. All materials are completely free, and any registered events are also promoted on TakeMeFishing.org.

The goal: planning events as great opportunities for families to get involved in recreational fishing and boating.

And, ahead: In 2009, National Fishing and Boating Week will be held June 6-14.
