More Than Just A Pretty Face: The Elorca

The Elorca Ellips Powercat has been featured in many magazines and on TV; it recently had a two-page spread in Ocean Drive Magazine. Randall Burg Yacht & Ship, Inc.,has the craft on display in their San Diego lot in Point Loma.

The Elorca is Russian made, with all military-grade aluminum alloy. The powercat has a top speed of 55 knots. Powered by twin Volvo 300 hp diesels, it is set up for fishing (bait tank for the stern) and diving (built-in swim steps that go below the water).

The boat seats seven, three up front on shock-mounted six-way power Racaro seats and four in the mid section.

The Elorca includes a commercial-grade color forward scanning sonor, autopilot, radar, VHF, GPS, and more. It has an auto-anchor system w/ the chain locker mid ship. There are twin refrigerators in the cockpit, a 600 watt stereo, and an hydraulic arch for easy canvas attachment. The reduced price of the Elorca — $249,000 — includes a three-axle trailer.

According to Randall Burg, the builder has moved production to the San Fernando Valley, and the next boat being built will be a 38-foot powercat with twin water-jet drives, Hydrofoil front end, upper bar for 18 guests, and a 12-foot glass underwater viewing port with seats around the port.

Up front is an air conditioned sealed room for comfort in any condition. This is the ultimate "reef runner."

The builder has a delivery target date in time for the September Newport Boat Show.

There is a possibility that the Elorca will be featured in the 2007 Niemen Marcus Christmas Book of fantasy gifts.
