An Unforgettable Adventure

Sail To Catalina Aboard The Schooner Californian

SAN DIEGO—Set sail along the beautiful Southern California coast aboard the State of California’s Official Tall Ship. Each trip to the ocean around Catalina Island aboard the schooner Californian offers a spectacular outlook on maritime history, seamanship, and the awesome beauty of the Pacific.

As active members of the guest crew, passengers take their turn standing watch, hauling lines, manning the helm — perhaps even going aloft. Along with the thrill of sailing a tall ship on the open ocean and a more rustic lifestyle, they enjoy camaraderie with their shipmates rarely found on shore.

Sailing aboard Californian is an extraordinary adventure travel experience for those who enjoy a challenge and love the ocean.

Californian is a replica of a mid-19th century revenue cutter. Designed for speed, she measures 145 feet in length. She has been designated the Official Tall Ship of the State of California.

Californian is owned and operated by the Maritime Museum of San Diego. She is crewed by both experienced professional sailors and skilled museum volunteers. Three and four day cruises depart from San Diego.

Fares range from $465 to $525 per person and include all meals while on board. Reservations and information are at (619) 234-9153, ext. 101 or online at www.sdmaritime.org.
