Arizona Anglers Encouraged To Attend Port Of San Diego’s Annual Day At The Docks

The Port of San Diego’s 28th Annual Day at the Docks® is a free sportfishing festival with appeal for the whole family.  The event signals the opening of the West Coast’s sportfishing season and is a favorite event for many Arizona sportfishermen.

Celebrating the official start of San Diego’s spring saltwater season, the fleet of 70 sportfishing boats in Point Loma will provide the colorful backdrop to the day's events on The Big Bay.

From Sunday, April 22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Day at the Docks® will feature casting contests, prizes, boat rides around the bay, open house aboard fleet vessels, displays of fishing tackle, boats and art.

There are fishing seminars, marine retailers, a stocked fishing area for children, a hands-on marine art contest for kids, music, food and entertainment.

Admission to the festival is absolutely free! There is free parking on Shelter Island with free, frequent shuttles to and from the festival.  Complete information is available on the Web site: www.sportfishing.org

Produced by the San Diego Sportfishing Council with support from the San Diego Unified Port District and County of San Diego, Day at the Docks®  is located at the sportfishing landings in Point Loma, on the corner of Harbor Drive and Scott Street.
