fire extinguisher recall

Recall Issued

Strike First Corporation of America has issued a product safety recall notice regarding several models of its Strike First dry chemical fire extinguishers.

Strike First said it has determined that the valve stem seats in a number of its 2.5- and 5-pound dry chemical fire extinguishers assembled between December 2002 and February 2004 are oversized.

The company said that the oversized part may prevent the affected fire extinguishers from discharging their contents at the proper velocity, or at all, when the lever is activated.

As a result of this condition, Strike First has initiated a retro-fit program for potentially affected units. Retro-fit kits are available free of charge from Strike First distributors, or by contacting Strike First directly... more

Hydrofoiling

USA Water Ski Welcomes Hydrofoiling As Newest Sport Discipline

POLK CITY, Fla. USA Water Ski has announced that the United States Hydrofoil Association (USHA) has become the ninth sport discipline of USA Water Ski.

The USA Water Ski board of directors approved USHA as a full sport discipline at its annual 2005 mid-winter board meeting in Polk City, Fla. "We're excited and honored to be a sport discipline of such a great organization as USA Water Ski," said Brad Scott, president of USHA. "We're looking forward to interacting with the other eight sport disciplines to help grow water sports."

Before Hydrofoiling became an official sport discipline of USA Water Ski, the USHA was an affiliate sport discipline of the organization for two years. Since then, the USHA has grown from 112 members at the end of 2002 to 438 members by the end of 2004.

Hydrofoiling has steadily been on the rise since 1990, when the first sit-down hydrofoil was sold. The sport's popularity grew more rapidly in 1998 when advanced hydrofoils began production... more

Good Dogs

A Case For Dog Training

Dogs give so much to us and touch us so deeply. They bring us such comfort and joy; they deserve to have the best we can give them in terms of happiness and freedom and safety and security.

Dogs show happiness when we come home, when we say nice things to them, and especially when we spend time with them. They seem to express sadness when we are gone or get upset, and they even seem to sense when we are not feeling well.

It is hard to imagine that they really dont know how to behave in our world of circumstances... more

Trever Marquette

AZBWsAWA Rider Of The Month

Arizona Boating & Watersports looks forward to Christine Camerons interviews each issue with the AZBW AWA Wakeboarder of the Month. Following is her question and answer session with Trever Marquette.

"I plan on riding JR Mens Pro Tour this year.  I like it because it offers more publicity than the local competitions and has a higher state of riding.  I also ride the Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club events out at Lake Ellsinore, Calif.; they are similar to AWA events with a relaxed and fun atmosphere.  I am also planning on hitting the various slider contests this year."  Read interview
