Water levels across west-central Florida are unusually low for this time of year, and it’s not just a small dip, according to Dr. Mark Fulkerson, chief professional engineer with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Kids, big and small, will have the opportunity to interact with large vehicles such as firetrucks, earth movers, dump trucks, backhoes, excavators, and bucket truck.
You can still get to Apache Lake – you just have to go to Roosevelt Lake and drive south from there. Right now the Apache Trail is still washed out, but access to the lake from the north is still possible.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area is twice the size of the state of Rhode Island, and even with the water level down, there is still plenty of room for boating and fishing. It is also a great RV destination, with many RV parks.
Nearly three million people visit the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area every year, and while Lake Powell is the main attraction, there are also plenty of other beautiful places to visit nearby, including the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and Zion National Park.
From Bagdad we decided to head toward Prescott via Kirkland and Skull Valley. This is all beautiful country – high desert with lots of huge boulders and an abundance of vegetation.
