AZBW/AWA Rider Of The Month
Cole Crippen, 9, Reminds Big Kids It’s All About Fun

Interview By Chris Cameron

Cole Crippen rides in the Grom Division (age 11 and under).  The first event in which he rode, he had a goal: not to finish last. However, he finished fourth (out of four) at that event, but he didn't let it discourage him.

The next event, Crippen finished second.  He reminds all the big kids that wakeboarding is all about having fun at the lake.

What is your name, age, and where do you live?

My name is Cole Crippen. I am 9 years old, and I live in Queen Creek, Ariz.

How long have you been wakeboarding?

I have been wakeboarding for two years.

How did you get into wakeboarding?

CWB rider Dustin Shows is my uncle. He got me started wakeboarding. Now my whole family does it.

What trick are you trying to learn or do you want to learn?

I am trying to learn how to jump wake to wake.

What is your favorite trick to do and why?

My favorite trick to do is spinning my board, because it is fun.

Why do you like wakeboarding?

It’s fun!

What do you like most about The AWA?

I make a lot of friends, and my whole family can compete

You just got sponsored. Who is your sponsor and what do you think about that?

My sponsor is www.innov8actionsports.com. You can have all your wakeboarding needs sent right to your house; call Jeff — (817) 573-0558 — and tell him Cole sent you for a special discount. I think it’s pretty cool

Where do you ride and with whom do you usually ride?

I ride at Saguaro Lake with my mom, dad, and brother Caden.

What do you like to do when you are not wakeboarding?

I play football, baseball, watch TV, play video games, and play with my friends.

Is there anybody that you would like to thank?

I would like to thank my sponsor Jeff at innov8actionsports.com, my mom and dad, and Dustin Shows for all his help and the AWA for great events.
