Be On The Lookout For More CFP Waters

We are excited to be working with multiple communities in bringing new Community Fishing waters to new locations. During the next two to three years, we hope to add waters in the Phoenix metro area in —

  • Queen Creek
  • Peoria
  • Gilbert
  • Glendale
  • Avondale

Other new waters are being planned for smaller rural communities, including Thatcher, Holbrook, and Mammoth. We hope that if we haven’t yet added a water near you, that we’ll be doing so in the near future. We wish you all a very Happy New Year!

Expansion Waters To Receive More Trout Jan. 16-20

The third stocking of trout for the winter season will occur in most Phoenix-area expansion waters during the third week of January. All AZGFD “expansion waters” are due to receive at least four stockings of trout during the colder/winter months. In addition, all expansion waters will receive at least four stockings of catfish.

Trout will be stocked into the following Expansion waters during the third week of January: Friendship Pond (Avondale), Eldorado Pond (Scottsdale), Bonsall Pond (Glendale), McQueen Pond (Gilbert), Roadrunner Pond (Phoenix), Freestone Pond (Gilbert), Dave White Park Pond (Casa Grande), Discovery Pond (Mesa), Pacana Pond (Maricopa), and Greenfield Pond (Mesa).
