Three MileThree Mile Lake is a 880 acre lake constructed and stocked in 1996. Water quality is excellent because of good conservation practices in the watershed and the presence of sediment basin and ponds in the watershed. Large numbers of 8 to 10 inch crappie and 7 to 9 inch bluegill are available to the angler. Largemouth bass fishing is fantastic with 11 to 14 inch fish dominating the action; 3 to 4 pound fish are present. Walleye up to 24 inches are occasionally caught and the lake offers anglers a chance to catch a musky. Anglers fishing for channel catfish can expect one to two pound fish; some 1/2 to one pound bullhead are also available. DNR fisheries personnel are attempting to establish a smallmouth bass population. Fishing jetties and an accessible pier for all provide shore angling opportunities. A tremendous amount of fish habitat was placed in the lake when constructed. Trees were left standing in most of the lake basin, and a number of humps and underwater islands were built.
