A list of questionable government spending could go on for ever. This is just one recent example. A conference was held in Phoenix, Arizona this week by the Social Security Administration at the
Biltmore Hotel. Everything imaginable was paid for by you the taxpayer.
A little bit of irony is to be found in the reporting of one news source. Part of the conference included sensitivity training. Was that before or after the dancers? Another news source reported that a "spokesperson outside the SSA's Phoenix office declined to comment".
The irony of course is to be found if the conference did in fact include a session on sensitivity training. It's hard to imagine how much sensitivity is involved when these people are spending the taxpayers money on a "vacation" when those same taxpayers are trying their best to buy food for their kids, gas for their cars and keep a roof over their heads.

There isn't a day that goes by that we don't hear reports of federal, state and local governments that are having budget problems. There solution is always to raise taxes.
