High School Homestay Inquiry for 2 Mexican Students
I am reaching out to you today to ask for your assistance regarding the placement of two exchange students from Mexico for the 2009-2010 school year.
Every year Sister Cities International works with US communities to help arrange an exchange student program. This year we have met with some difficulty in placing two young people fromPuebla, Mexico . I know it is very late in the year for schools to accept exchange students but the original host community has been unable to locate host families for the students despite much effort. The two students are very bright and accomplished and eager to spend a year studying in the US . They do not have to be placed in the same city but host families and space in a local high school have to be found for them. The host family also does not need to host for the entire school year but can share the responsibility with other local families. All of their program fees and visa fees have been paid for.
I know it is an economically hard time for all communities but this is a very special opportunity to get to know students from a neighboring country and educate them on the unique and exciting aspects of your city or town.
If you are interested in hosting, please contact P.J. Conover at firstname.lastname@example.org -- he will send you their student profiles.
The program brochure can be located at http://www.sister-cities.org/programs/youth/Homestay_brochure2009.pdf
