Following are the BassFan World Rankings as updated after the Guntersville Bassmaster Elite Series (and at AZBW press time):

Kevin VanDam, who finished 20th at Guntersville, remains firmly fixed in the No. 1 position with about the same lead he enjoyed prior to the event. Again, he seems untouchable.

Brent Ehrler, an FLW Tour pro, didn't fish Guntersville, but his hold on the second-place spot has slipped considerably.

Skeet Reese finished second at Guntersville, which helps him move up a spot to third, where he's less than a half-point behind Ehrler. Reese's runner-up finish was his third Top 10 this season (out of five events), and he's poised to make a serious run at his second Angler of the Year (AOY) title in three years. Note that Ehrler leads the FLW Tour AOY race.

Guntersville winner Aaron Martens climbs four spots to a rank of fourth in this edition. Overall, Martens has been fishing very well.

Despite an 11th at Guntersville, Todd Faircloth slips two spots to fifth. His drop is largely due to the ascendance of Martens and Reese.

Mike Iaconelli continues his tear and after a fourth at Guntersville climbs two more spots to seventh. Ike's stat sheet includes seven Top 10s in the last nine tour-level events he's fished. What continues to hurt him, though, is his 2007 slump. Those slump finishes are dropping off one-by-one, but he won't be out of the woods until the end of this season.

Mike McClelland stumbled through Dardanelle, Wheeler and Smith Mt. But a seventh at Guntersville helps him regain ground, and he improves four spots in this edition to land back inside the Top 10 at eighth.

Dean Rojas' finishes the past two years have been all over the map. Alongside several Top 10s, he's also posted forgettable finishes in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Yes, he finished 47th at Guntersville, but slips only three spots and is still inside the Top 10 at ninth.

The 10th- through 15th-place spots are all occupied by FLW Tour pros whose most recent stop was the Wal-Mart Open at Beaver Lake in Arkansas. Respectively, they are Andy Morgan, David Dudley, Anthony Gagliardi, Jacob Powroznik, Luke Clausen and Clark Wendlandt.

Editor’ Note: BassFan.com World Rankings are not a subjective poll, "power index," or "power rankings." The BassFan World Rankings are statistical (objective) World Rankings of professional bass anglers. Like all world rankings in all sports, the BassFan.com World Rankings also use performance data over multiple years, as that is the only way to gauge consistency. And, because of the non-standard nature of pro bass tournaments, the BassFan World Rankings methodology is at least as complex as world-rankings methodologies used in other sports. If you have any questions about this, please email editorial@bassfan.com.
