THE FIRST -- Each January, Arizona Yacht Club is the first in the nation to host the Leukemia Cup, along with their Birthday Regatta. According to Cameron Childs, LLS Special Events, the Society is planning the 2010 finale event with Gary Jobson as speaker.

They are also implementing a children's sailing clinic at Tempe Town Lake and are planning to host a showing of My Sister's Keeper -- a movie about a young girl with leukemia -- at a local theater for AYC. Childs is also hoping to implement a Lake Pleasant Poker Run for power boaters interested in fighting leukemia.
