Our number-one goal is to see that everyone’s experience with Western Outdoor Times/Arizona Boating & Watersports is positive and beneficial. Our objective is to bring pertinent information to those who enjoy all that Arizona’s beautiful outdoors has to offer in the form of rest, relaxation, and recreation. Our hope is to promote the use of our outdoor areas in a manner that encourages safety and the preservation of our natural resources. Our aim is to help people enjoy to the fullest their time spent outdoors, and we believe that shared information is a key to that enjoyment.

We will provide useful information to all who have an interest in or can benefit from knowledge of outdoor activities in Arizona and surrounding areas. This includes the more than 278,000 (Arizona Game & Fish 2002) registered boat owners in Arizona, our original focus in the first issues of AZBW.

This number does not include the thousands of others who enjoy Arizona’s outdoors through myriad of other sports such as trout fishing Arizona’s streams or tubing Arizona’s rivers, or the multi-million-dollar-a-years river-rafting industry. It does not include the thousands of people who enjoy spending their vacations and company and family outings on one of Arizona’s 200 rental houseboats. It does not include the people who don’t own boats but belong to one of the boat clubs that provide boats for their recreation needs. Nor does it reflect the thousands who go birding, camp, hunt, RV, water ski/wakeboard, or enjoy the plethora of fascinating wildlife in the Southwest.

These thousands of people are supported and serviced by hundreds of thousands of different business throughout the country. The list of support services includes boat dealers and service shops, insurance companies, health practitioners, hotels, guides, fishing and hunting-supply outlets, camping supplies, just to name a few.

WOT/AZBW will act as a news center and directory of products and services for all who are interested in outdoor recreation in Arizona and surrounding destinations. We will bring news updates that affect those outdoors enthusiasts, columns that pertain to their primary interests, and advertising that offers products and services that will make their recreation, travel and hobbies more rewarding and enjoyable.

AZBW is devoted to boating, fishing, and all watersports. We would like to address the issues that are of interest to those who participate in thesse activities. We would like your comments and suggestions about the merchants, plitical entities, and participants that you encounter while enjoying your sport.
