ASU Bass Fishing Team

Hope all of you are off to a great start in the New Year! I just wanted to take a minute to fill you wonderful people in on what the ASU Bass Fishing Team has been up to.

First, we held a fundraising tournament on Saturday, Jan.30 at Lake Pleasant in conjunction with Hook Up Tackle. Of all basic entries 30 percent goes back to the club, as well as money raised from tee-shirt sales and other events.

On Jan. 16 we fished the FLW College Series at Lake Shasta, Calif. Out of the four teams we sent, one of the teams made the top five, finishing in third place. (http://www.collegefishing.com/tournament.cfm?tid=6529&t=results)

Last season we also had three teams get top five finishes and sent three teams to the FLW College Series Western Championship at the California Delta, where we had a team finish in fifth, qualifying for the FLW College Series National Championship; they are currently on the main Web page of FLW College Fishing: (www.CollegeFishing.com).

We are in the process of completing our ASU Club Qualifiers to determine the top anglers to send to the National Championships this summer in Texas (BoatUS National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship) and Arkansas (Under Armour Collegiate Bass Championship).
